Dr. David Lane
Founder of the Laser Cataract Centre (2015), Dr. Lane has personally performed over 30,000 surgeries. He is is well respected among his colleagues and has given many lectures about cataract surgery to other ophthalmologists.
Dr. Lane was the gold medalist in his medical school class, and placed in the 99th percentile of the qualifying American Ophthalmology Board exams (ie Dr. Lane’s qualifying exam results placed in the top 1% of North America).

Dr. Jonathan Hurst
Dr. Jonathan Hurst joined LCC in the summer of 2016 to provide state of the art care to his patients. He runs a busy full-time comprehensive ophthalmology practice in his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario.
Along with LCC, he holds surgical privileges at Peterborough Regional Health Centre and Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston, Ontario. He travels regularly to Queen's University in Kingston where he is actively involved in residency training as an Assistant Professor (adjunct) in the Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Hurst is an active researcher with many peer-reviewed publications in professional journals. He has delivered over 30 lectures to audiences comprised of physicians, optometrists, students and nurses.

Dr. Andre Ali-Ridha
Dr. Andre Ali-Ridha joined LCC in 2019 with the goal of providing the best, cutting-edge care to his patients. He also holds hospital privileges at Peterborough Regional Hospital, Ontario where he helps take care of a busy office practice.
Dr. Ali-Ridha’s hometown is nearby in Whitby Ontario where he grew up and first started working in his local optometry office. After doing medical missions abroad in the Philippines, he went on to do medical school in Ottawa where he received several awards including the leadership and collaboration competency awards for his work in establishing the first pediatric vision screening program. He then completed a fellowship in ocular pathology where he published and presented extensively, even conducting research in macular degeneration for 2 months in Poland.
He completed his Ophthalmology residency at McGill University where he won first prize in research. Following his passion for teaching, he won the outstanding commitment and achievement to medical student teaching award and the excellence in teaching for clinical practice award from the Dean at McGill University.
Dr. Ali-Ridha has developed the first interactive online teaching curriculum in Ophthalmology for medical students and residents, a special program for the prevention of eye injuries and the first community sharing platform for resident surgical videos at McGill. Dr. Ali-Ridha is also involved in a randomized clinical trial to optimize the use of eye drops for the future of cataract surgery.

Dr. Mark Mucci
Dr. Mucci attained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2008. He then went on to study optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in 2012.
Dr. Mucci has a vast knowledge base in laser vision correction due to his experience with other laser vision correction centres. Mark has worked with the TLC Toronto centre and is currently a part time consulting Optometrist/Clinical Director with The Burlington Laser Eye Centre. He also does primary care optometry locally in Lindsay at Russell West Optometry.
Dr. Mucci is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honour Society.
Mark loves to stay active and participates in a variety of competitive and non-competitive sports including golf, soccer, baseball, volleyball, snowboarding and hockey.

Dee Dee Bray
Dee Dee is the LCC Clinic Coordinator, and your primary contact.
She has a wealth of experience in refractive surgery and advanced cataract surgery.
Dee Dee is a certified ophthalmic assistant, and has trained on all LCC lasers. She is charge of educating all new staff on advanced diagnostic machines, and lasers.
